I read and analyzed the Extending the mirror neuron system model article by James Bonaiuto, et al.
This paper introduce the Mirror neuron system model, which is used to identify the type of grasp to be performed on a specified object. The first version of MNS (MNS I) has some drawbacks, so this article describe changes that were made in the second version (MNS II) to get better results in some specific conditions and to use biologicaly more plausible architecture – they used reccurent neural network trained by BPTT algorithm.
I read some former master theses which could be helpful or become a starting point for some parts of our work.
I browsed the Internet to look for some articles about BPTT, Actor-Critic RL and object grasping.
To install the open-source robotic platform iCub on my Ubuntu Linux 10.10 I had to prepare the environment exactly as was described in the online manual, download the source codes from the repositories, compile and install them. It was not as easy as installing Ubuntu , but I did it successfully.
I would like to try some iCub tutorials, samples to get to know how to control the robot, how to use the simulator, etc.
